Getting Started, Change Your Life

You wana change your life.  Okay; but you pick up a diet book or workout, do it for a week or two…but then you cheat.  Then you cheat a little more… and the next thing you know you haven’t worked out in two weeks and you can’t remember the last time you saw a vegetable.

Sound familiar?  Yeah, I know… me too – or at least that used to be me.  So let me help you:

Make this year Lucky ’13!

There is no reason that you can’t do everything you dream of doing…. well, there’s one reason: you.

Except This Fact:

The only thing holding you back is you.  Not your body.  Not your medical conditions.  Not your kids or time or any other reason you may give.

Don’t believe me?  Do a quick google search for “amputee athlete“… go ahead, I’ll wait.

I woke up like this... 😸 We think meditation has to be so serious! That it's a deep well of self examination and being uncomfortable and fidgeting. But it doesn't have to be. 🤔 What if meditation was about how nice a deep breath feels? About easing the tension from your body, like a massage from your own mind? Would you like the idea of it then? 🥰 Remember, whatever you think of meditation is just a story you've told yourself. There's a lot of misconceptions about meditation. 🤔 One that I encounter often is that you need to sit in a special way or chant special words. That there's a "right" way to do it; which can mean my students tell themselves they're doing it "wrong". 🥺 My opinion: unless you're meditating to reach enlightenment, or for another spiritual discipline, you can't do it wrong! 😃 In the context of wellbeing, meditation is about slowing down. Giving your mind and body a pause. At first that might feel uncomfortable, but trying it is already helping. 🙏 What are your questions about meditation? I'll be posting all week. Who looks up to you? Are they what motivates you? 🦄 Often times when I'm working with clients old enough to have kids (or in my case, my friend's and siblings kids), it's not only themselves they're motivated for. Parents realize early how kids listen to everything they say. They're little 🦜🦜 You know what else kids learn from us? ➡️How we talk to ourselves. ➡️How we take care of ourselves. ➡️What we put in our bodies. As you consider your self care habit, consider what you're teaching your little ones. Onward to adventure! 🦄 The last piece of the puzzle in my self acceptance journey so far was my purpose. I'd tried for a long time to follow the path that "made sense", but in that magic time with @luna_alignment_yoga and @talswissa I was able to see how the pieces didn't fit. I had to be true to myself and my place in this universe. 🥺 Change is scary. Facing down these big questions is hard. Learning how to accept yourself and own your sh*t is an ongoing process.
