Completely Covered in Sand(y)

Completely ignoring the instructions of the mayor, I went out with my friend John from ControlGeek.net (a storm chaser, weather nerd, and a guy who knows how to minimize his risk – you’d want him on your zombie team).  We headed down to Coney Island and Brighton Beach in our fare borough of Brooklyn to check out the aftermath.

I’m working my way through the pictures and will post them later, but this video is the most significant thing I saw so I want to get it right up:

Update:

I looked through my pics and found two that are relevant to this video.  This is the boardwalk, which you can see is undercut.  Up and down the beach most of the dunes held, but right here it gave way causing the beach to rush up.  In the background by the stairs you can see the floodline on the wall…

…and turning to my left you can see the apartment building I talk about in the video:
